UNFI & Sustainable Sourcing Partner for National Distribution
Sustainable Sourcing, the nation's leading ethically sourced, artisan made pink Himalayan sea salt company, today announces their national distribution partnership with United Natural Foods, the leading independent national distributor of natural foods and related products. Through this arrangement, select HimalaSalt products will for the first time be easily available to thousands of natural foods, gourmet specialty, and grocery retailers nationwide. In working with UNFI, Sustainable Sourcing's long term goal of putting HimalaSalt within easy reach of America's natural food shoppers is significantly advanced.
Products initially available through the UNFI include four SKU's of HimalaSalt. All Sustainable Sourcing/HimalaSalt products are Kosher Passover certified, made by 100% Green-e certified wind and solar energy, all packaging is either 100% recycled, recyclable, refillable, or reusable, and 5% of the profits go to the environment and source communities. HimalaSalt is unrefined, all natural, with no additives.
It is imported from the Tibetan Plateau, where Kushi has set up her own processing facility to ensure fair trade labor standards, no dynamite blasting nor child labor, and is minimally processed using high grade equipment. It is packaged in New England, where Kushi has set up an artisan, certified organic/kosher passover FDA processing facility, which is where her Sustainable Sourcing Organics line is also produced.
The HimalaSalt SKU's currently available through UNFI include the 2.8 oz HimalaSalt Ceramic Grinder, a refillable, recyclable, long lasting ceramic blade grinder that will not rust or corrode; the 6 oz HimalaSalt Fine Grain Shaker, convenient and ready to use for the busy cook; the 4oz Refillable Mini Grinder, recyclable, with PET blades, good for approximately 5 refills, and the 7oz HimalaSalt Refill Box, Coarse Grain, a double sized refill for both the Ceramic and Mini Refillable Grinders.
